Gwangju Seo-gu and Yakhoe Association Join Hands to Support Learning for Multicultural Families

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with the Seo-gu Pharmaceutical Association of Gwangju Metropolitan City (President Kim Dongjin) to support multicultural families.

This agreement was made to support learning for multicultural families with sponsorship funds collected by about 20 members of the Seo-gu Pharmaceutical Association, who sympathized with the purpose of the public-private cooperation coupling project in January and gathered 100,000 KRW monthly.

On this day, Seo-gu and the Seo-gu Pharmaceutical Association agreed on the necessity of learning support to overcome language and cultural barriers for children and parents of multicultural families. Seo-gu will recommend candidates for the visiting basic learning ‘GOGOGO Project’ and oversee the project implementation and monitoring, while the Pharmaceutical Association promised to provide sponsorship funds annually.

Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, “The hearts and sincerity of the members of the Seo-gu Pharmaceutical Association are a great force in realizing the spirit of noblesse oblige that delivers positive influence,” adding, “The sponsorship funds gathered with warm hearts will be used valuably as support funds to eliminate welfare blind spots such as multicultural families.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu confirmed ‘Good City Seo-gu’ as its city brand last month and is actively implementing good policies such as the ‘Public-Private Cooperation Coupling Project’ created together by the administration and the private sector.
