'Employee Power Abuse Controversy' Kang Hyung-wook Announces Return on SNS
"Quitting Life as Company CEO to Focus on Trainer Role"
Also Mentions Lawsuit... "Facts Not Confirmed"
Dog trainer and broadcaster Kang Hyung-wook is making a comeback about a month after suffering from a 'power abuse controversy.'
On the 26th, Kang Hyung-wook posted on his social media (SNS), "I am putting aside my life as a company CEO and want to focus on my original profession as a trainer."
Kang said, "Over the past month, I have gone through many things and had time to reflect on my life," adding, "Looking back on the time I walked as an inadequate CEO, I felt despair and a lot of shame." He continued, "I deeply reflect on not showing a more responsible side. I sincerely apologize to those who were disappointed and hurt upon hearing my news," bowing his head.
He also mentioned that complaints have been filed against him and his wife. Kang said, "I recently heard that complaints against me and my wife were filed at the police station," adding, "I will sincerely cooperate with the investigation to reveal the truth." This refers to the recent filing of complaints by two former employees, including employee A, of Bodum Company, which Kang operated, to the Namyangju Nambu Police Station over the act of reading company messenger messages. However, Kang warned, "For those who have caused unnecessary misunderstandings with unverified information, spread baseless falsehoods, slandered, or filed false complaints, I plan to take firm measures including legal action."
Kang expressed, "My heart has also been deeply hurt," but added, "I believe that since I have received excessive love from many people, I must endure the pain as well." He continued, "I am putting aside my life as a company CEO and want to focus on my original profession as a trainer. I gain a lot of strength from the support of many people waiting for my training videos," and said, "I want to repay those people by showing a more trainer-like appearance in the future." He also added, "Now, I am gathering courage to return to a daily life where I can go for walks with my family and companion dogs. Going forward, I will show a more mature side with professionalism and responsibility as a trainer."
Previously, Kang’s former employees have consistently revealed since last month that Kang verbally abused and exerted power over them. The main allegations include ▲putting holiday gifts in dog waste bags ▲monitoring employees with closed-circuit television (CCTV) ▲secretly reading company messenger messages ▲setting bathroom usage times, among others. In response, Kang refuted these claims through his YouTube channel, stating, "All allegations are not true." Currently, Kang’s former employees have filed complaints against Kang and his wife.
