Genesis Sponsors Screen Golf League Created by Tiger Woods

Genesis is sponsoring a new concept screen golf league to expand its brand through sports entertainment. This league is hosted by a tech venture company founded by world-renowned golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

On the 26th, Genesis announced that it has partnered with the tech venture company Tomorrow Sports to officially sponsor the screen golf league 'TGL presented by SoFi (hereafter TGL)' as a partner.

TGL is a new concept screen golf league held in a dedicated venue equipped with a giant screen measuring 19.5m wide and 14m high, which is 20 times larger than the screens used in regular screen golf. The venue can accommodate over 2,000 spectators.

The matches are played in a match play format with both team and individual competitions. Distances over 50 yards (approximately 45m) are played in screen golf format, while distances under 50 yards are played on an actual green within the venue. The greens feature adjustable slopes, making the terrain different for each hole.

TGL, led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is scheduled to officially launch next year, with six teams composed of world-class professional golfers competing. The first season will take place from January to April next year at the SoFi Center in Florida, USA. It will include 15 regular league matches, playoffs, and a championship final. The prize money for the winner is 20 million dollars.

Top PGA Tour players such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy?the defending champion of the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open?and Hideki Matsuyama, the 2024 Genesis Invitational champion, will participate in TGL. Korean player Kim Joo-hyung is also expected to compete.

Additionally, Genesis will provide vehicles for players and officials. A Genesis lounge will be set up inside the venue, showcasing key models to promote the brand widely to gallery visitors and viewers in 80 countries worldwide.
