This 4th coordination meeting has been organized to review the follow-up progress on the core projects of Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam announced in March, discuss major business plans for the second half of this year, and to further enhance ultra-wide cooperation and create tangible results.
Following the 1st to 3rd coordination meetings held in June and August last year and February this year, this meeting will be attended by the planning and coordination directors of the three cities and provinces of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
The meeting will proceed in the following order: ▲Report on the status of core projects in Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam ▲Plan (draft) for holding the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Policy Council ▲Review of strategies to secure national funding for cooperative projects ▲Report on key business plans for the second half of the year ▲Other discussions.
In particular, at this meeting, the planning and coordination directors of the three cities and provinces will review the follow-up progress of the core projects jointly announced by the mayors and governors in March and discuss continuous cooperation measures to ensure the smooth implementation of these key projects.
In addition, to secure national funding for joint cooperative projects, a national funding response team led by the planning and coordination directors of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam will be operated in the second half of the year. As the economic alliance enters its second year, they plan to discuss ways to produce substantial results.
Jeon Sunim, head of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Ultra-Wide Economic Alliance Promotion Team, said, "Through this meeting, we will work actively to concretize ways to achieve tangible results for Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, so that our region can lead the era of local autonomy. As both the current government and political parties are showing support for local autonomy and various opinions and policies for balanced regional development in Korea are emerging, our Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region will continue to promote cooperative projects through the economic alliance and deliver outcomes that citizens can truly feel."
