Strengthening Support for QSS Innovation Activities and Customized Safety and Environmental Sectors for SMEs

Since 2011, Pohang Steelworks has been supporting QSS innovation activities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) located in the Pohang Steel Industrial Complex.
The QSS (Quick Six Sigma) methodology refers to POSCO's unique way of working that maximizes production efficiency by identifying and improving waste and risk factors in the field.
Through this agreement ceremony, Pohang Steelworks aims not only to continue sharing QSS innovation activities but also to strengthen customized safety and environmental support for SMEs, while reaffirming mutual growth with the Pohang Steel Industry Management Complex.
The agreement includes provisions such as: ▲ the roles and responsibilities of Pohang Steelworks and the Pohang Steel Industry Management Complex ▲ systematic promotion of QSS activities through enhanced safety and environmental support ▲ strengthened monitoring and feedback to establish a culture of improvement in safety and environment-focused QSS activities, all aimed at creating a safe and happy workplace.
Specifically, Pohang Steelworks will actively support safety education for SMEs within the Pohang Steel Industrial Complex by providing safety inspections, expert training, and global safety center experiential education. In addition, professional consulting will be offered for environmental and energy diagnostics and improvement activities.
Chun Siyeol, head of Pohang Steelworks, said, "The QSS activities of Pohang Steelworks have contributed to enhancing corporate competitiveness through improvements in quality, cost, and delivery," and added, "We will take the lead in creating a happy workplace for all member companies of the Pohang Steel Industry Management Complex by focusing on strengthening support for risk reduction and work environment improvement based on QSS activities."
