Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, participated in the ‘Mapo District Mobile Workers Bottled Water Sharing Campaign’ held on the morning of the 25th in front of Seoul Western Employment Center at 63-8 Mapodaero.
Organized by the Mapo District Workers Comprehensive Support Center and sponsored by Lotte Chilsung, Woahan Cheongnyeondeul, and Jayeondream, the campaign distributed 3,840 bottles of water and was attended by about 30 mobile workers from Rider Union and Delivery Platform Labor Union.
On the day, Mayor Park Gang-su said in his greeting, “This summer, with the early heatwave, it is very meaningful to hold a bottled water sharing campaign for the mobile workers who are working harder than anyone else,” adding, “I hope a bottle of cold ice water will give some strength to the mobile workers.”
Additionally, the Mapo District Workers Comprehensive Support Center placed about 3,000 bottles of ice water at seven locations in Mapo District and created a ‘Mapo District Ice Water Map’ to help mobile workers easily access ice water.
Mapo District is making every effort to improve the working environment of mobile workers, including being the first in Seoul to promote a platform mobile workers’ industrial accident insurance premium support project.
