Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital Leads Efforts to Raise Awareness of Environmental Protection Activities

'Hwasun Geumjeon Reservoir World Environment Day Commemoration "Sseujeulin" Campaign'

Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital (Director Min Jeong-jun) Chonnam Environmental Health Center recently announced on the 25th that it held the ‘Sseujeulin (人)’ campaign around Geumjeon Reservoir in Hwasun to commemorate World Environment Day.

Sseujeulin (人) means ‘people who enjoy picking up trash’ and was organized to raise environmental awareness among hospital staff and to inform the local community about the importance of environmental protection activities.

Park Won-ju, head of the Chonnam Environmental Health Center, stated, “The Sseujeulin event is not just about picking up trash; it aims to share responsibility and passion for vulnerable local residents and to promote sustainable development of the community. A sense of responsibility for the region will serve as a foundation for strengthening the hospital’s public role.”

Meanwhile, the Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital Chonnam Environmental Health Center was designated by the Ministry of Environment last March and is conducting various projects such as prevention, education, research, and publicity to ensure that local residents do not suffer health damage from environmental hazards.
