It has been revealed that the company most frequently searched and analyzed by job seekers is Hyundai Motor Company. Hyundai Motor is known as "Kingcha," combining the words king and car, due to its top-level wages and welfare benefits across various communities. Office workers are nicknamed "Gatmu-jik" (god office job), and production workers are called "Gatsan-jik" (god production job).
On the 25th, recruitment content platform Catch announced the results of a survey on "whether job seekers analyze companies," conducted with 1,055 job seekers. 74% of respondents said they analyze companies before applying, 16% said they do not, and 10% said it depends on the company.
The company with the most active analysis (based on Catch's "Company Analysis Report" views) was Hyundai Motor Company (16,000 views). Following were LG Electronics (14,000 views) in second place and Samsung Electronics (11,000 views) in third. Other companies included △CJ CheilJedang (10,000 views) △Hyundai Mobis (8,000 views) △CJ Olive Young (8,000 views) △Kia (7,000 views) △Amorepacific (7,000 views) △Naver (7,000 views) △Korean Air (7,000 views).
When analyzing companies, job seekers mainly look at "basic information" such as business and brand (61%). This was followed by "recent issues" at 34%, "recruitment information" at 31%, and "competitors and industry status" at 29%. Other areas included △business reports (22%) △successful application materials (19%) △financial information (17%) △current employee reviews (16%).
The timing of company analysis was most often "when a job posting appears" at 45%, with 32% saying they "regularly analyze companies in their spare time." Next were "just before applying" at 16% and "depending on the company" at 7%.
The majority of job seekers found the "company analysis" process difficult. Among those who have experience analyzing companies, 73% said the difficulty level was high. 26% said it was average, and only 1% said it was easy.
Kim Jeong-hyun, head of Catch at Jinhaksa, said, "The Company Analysis Report provides only the essential information in a concise manner, reducing the time required, which makes it highly demanded." He added, "We plan to expand the scope of this content so that job seekers can conveniently conduct company analysis in the future."
