On the 25th, Chungnam Province held the 74th anniversary ceremony of the Korean War, attended by Governor Kim Tae-heum, Provincial Council Chairman Jo Gil-yeon, Superintendent of Education Kim Ji-cheol, Seo Jeong-mi, head of the Western Veterans Affairs Office, and 130 others including Gyeong Geon-yong, the oldest war veteran in the province.

Governor Kim paid tribute to the veterans who sacrificed their lives for the Republic of Korea and awarded commendations to four individuals.

Governor Kim stated, "Four years ago, there were about 4,200 veterans, but currently, there are 2,060 veterans remaining," adding, "It is regrettable and humbling that those to be honored are disappearing."

He continued, "We will give the highest respect to national merit recipients and open an era of advanced veterans affairs where honoring veterans becomes a daily practice," and said, "We will uphold the spirit of patriotism and loyalty shown by the war heroes and veterans to build a stronger Republic of Korea."
