Providing Solutions from Strategy to Practice
for Companies Demanding Renewable Energy
Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS Division (Hanwha Q CELLS) is actively expanding its energy consulting business to support domestic companies in increasing renewable energy use and achieving RE100 (100% Renewable Energy Usage). Leveraging its world-class solar manufacturing capabilities, Hanwha Q CELLS plans to become an energy company that provides differentiated 'one-stop' solutions to help expand green energy in Korea.
Hanwha Q CELLS offers total solutions ranging from energy consulting to the supply of key equipment (solar modules and inverters), installation, financing, and related businesses for renewable energy demand companies with domestic operations. Currently, renewable energy demand companies can increase their use of carbon-free electricity and fulfill RE100 commitments through ▲PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) ▲REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) purchases ▲self-construction ▲green premiums, among other methods. Hanwha Q CELLS provides consulting services that comprehensively analyze each customer's electricity usage patterns, costs by implementation method, and expected returns to derive optimized RE100 implementation strategies tailored to individual clients.
Moreover, to ensure customers can actually achieve their renewable energy expansion goals such as RE100 based on the consulting results, Hanwha Q CELLS offers a 'one-stop' service. Possessing both solar cell manufacturing capabilities and green energy turnkey solution expertise, Hanwha Q CELLS supplies excellent equipment such as modules, inverters, and ESS (Energy Storage Systems), along with optimal installation solutions. Practical guidelines for financing and maintenance are also provided. Additionally, leveraging experience and capabilities accumulated through participation in distributed energy projects in major global markets including Korea, the United States, and Europe, Hanwha Q CELLS plans to support participation in various related businesses such as small-scale power brokerage and renewable energy electricity supply projects.
Meanwhile, as the national need to expand renewable energy to address climate change grows, the Korean government is also promoting strategies to encourage renewable energy adoption. On the 16th of last month, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced the 'Renewable Energy Expansion and Supply Chain Strengthening Strategy' and declared the full-scale promotion of renewable energy expansion.
Yoo Jae-yeol, Head of Hanwha Q CELLS Korea Business Division, stated, "Hanwha Q CELLS is evolving into a total energy solutions company in Korea by continuously developing new businesses such as distributed energy and energy consulting, in addition to cell and module supply businesses. In line with policy and market changes, we will actively support national goals of responding to electricity demand and expanding carbon-free power sources, while providing reasonable energy solutions to help domestic companies appropriately respond to the increasing renewable energy demands they face within the global supply chain."
