The vessel mooring facility at Geobukseom Marina in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, will be completed in July.
With a total project cost of 20.8 billion KRW, construction of the Geobukseom Marina mooring facility began in November 2022 and can accommodate a total of 90 vessels. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the beautiful sunset over Lake Sihwa from the 300-meter scenic bridge.
Gyeonggi-do and Siheung City will invest 12.8 billion KRW by 2026 to build additional complex convenience facilities such as a clubhouse at Geobukseom Marina.
Gyeonggi-do expects a significant number of tourists to visit due to the synergy effect with various marine leisure facilities around Geobukseom, including the Marine Ecology Science Museum, Aquapet Land, and Wave Park, which will also greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Gong Jeong-sik, Director of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Life Sciences Bureau of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "Siheung Geobukseom Marina is the fourth marina facility in the province following Jeongok Marina, Aramaru, and Jebu Marina. Through these four marinas, Gyeonggi-do has secured mooring facilities for 800 vessels. Once completed, Geobukseom Marina is expected to become the number one marine leisure destination most visited by tourists in the metropolitan area."
