For this event, Gyeongbuk TP and ReLioS conducted a site tour of the Fraunhofer Institute's fully automated battery cell manufacturing and coating process production chain, and held a conference under the theme of 'Establishing a Global Electric Vehicle Used Battery Resource Circulation System.'

At the conference, ReLioS emphasized the need to establish a global cooperation system through a presentation on 'The Current Status of the Used Battery Market in the European Union and Key Technology Cases,' while Fraunhofer IPA introduced the EU's resource circulation economic policy under the theme 'EU Battery and Battery Circular Economy.'

Gyeongbuk TP shared the research results of the 'Gyeongbuk Next-Generation Battery Recycling Regulation-Free Special Zone Project' that has been promoted so far, and held in-depth discussions on future cooperation plans between Korea and Germany.

Starting with this event, a close global cooperation system will be established between Gyeongbuk TP and ReLioS (Germany) for mutual verification of inspection methods and joint R&D for the development of international standards and criteria for used battery performance and safety inspection methods, as well as strengthening joint research and development (R&D) capabilities and discovering new cooperation projects related to used batteries.

Ha Inseong, President of Gyeongbuk Technopark, said, "We will faithfully fulfill our role as a full-cycle support institution for the domestic used battery industry and serve as a bridgehead so that domestic companies can quickly enter the global market without trial and error."
