Pioneering Export Markets!... Yeongcheon City Dispatches 'Southeast Asia Trade Mission'

Exploring Ways to Boost Agro-Food Exports

Yeongcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province, dispatched a trade delegation to Vietnam and Taiwan on the 24th to help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) secure export competitiveness and explore overseas markets.

The Southeast Asia trade delegation will hold export consultation meetings in Hanoi, Vietnam on the 27th and in Taipei, Taiwan on the 29th.

On the 24th, about 20 members of the trade delegation, including Mayor Choi Kimoon of Yeongcheon, arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, and held a market trend briefing for Vietnam and Southeast Asia at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Hanoi office, as well as a meeting to discuss the entry of Yeongcheon SMEs into the Vietnamese market.

On the 25th, the delegation will visit the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation to hold a meeting to discuss ways to promote the export of agricultural and food products from Yeongcheon.

They will also visit the headquarters of K-MARKET in Vietnam to sign a business agreement for cooperation in expanding the export of Yeongcheon’s agricultural and specialty products to Vietnam. Afterwards, they will participate in a product promotion event at K-MARKET Golden Branch to promote the products of the companies participating in the delegation.

On the 26th, an export consultation meeting will be held with invited Vietnamese buyers, where Yeongcheon SMEs will have consultations with buyers. The delegation will also visit the Vietnam Small and Medium Business Association to sign a business agreement for SME support and market exchange.

On the 27th, the delegation will visit the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (Hanoi) to sign a business agreement for mutual cooperation between the two organizations. On the 28th, an export consultation meeting will be held in Taipei, Taiwan.

Mayor Choi Kimoon stated, "A trade delegation is the most effective means for competitive local SMEs to target overseas markets," and added, "Through customized export consultation meetings for each company, we hope to widely promote the excellent products of local companies and achieve successful export results."
