Female Lawmaker as Vice Speaker... Democratic Party Objects to "Unilateral Election of the Speaker Without Agreement"

The Yuseong District Council of Daejeon held the 3rd plenary session of the 271st regular meeting on the 24th and elected Councilor Kim Dong-su (constituency A) as the chairperson and Councilor Seo Yeong-yong (constituency A) as the vice-chairperson for the second half of the 9th council.
Councilor Kim Dong-su stated, "I will faithfully carry out the important role of chairperson for the second half of the 9th Yuseong District Council to create a city where all Yuseong residents are happy."
The term of the second half chairperson team will begin on July 1, and the standing committee chairs and special committee chairs will be elected at the 272nd extraordinary meeting to be held next month.
Meanwhile, Democratic Party councilors of Yuseong District Council protested, saying that the election of the chairperson team was carried out unilaterally without agreement with the opposition party.
