On the 28th of last month, a post titled "New Employee Eating Malatang During Lunch Break" was uploaded on an online community. The author, Mr. A, started by saying, "The new employee keeps ordering Malatang for delivery during the company lunch break."

Mr. A requested, "Please don't eat food inside the company," but the new employee, Mr. B, responded, "You should say something to the seniors who eat macarons and cookies in the office, so why only me? Should coffee also not be consumed in the office?" Mr. A complained, "Mr. B sometimes eats the Malatang he ordered at his desk and also in the pantry. The smell of Malatang is driving me crazy."

Mr. A explained the situation, saying, "A few days ago, I think he ate Malatang in the meeting room because the smell of Malatang was overwhelming there," and added, "I had a hard time getting rid of the Malatang smell that filled the meeting room." He continued, "He even threw leftover Malatang directly into the toilet, which caused it to clog. When I told him to eat outside if he was going to eat Malatang and that eating it inside the company was inappropriate, he just made excuses, saying he manages it well so there’s no smell. I don’t know how to handle this and am seeking advice."

Netizens who read the story reacted with comments such as, "Throwing Malatang into the toilet is really uncultured," "No matter how young, he should know not to eat in the meeting room," "Young people these days lack basic manners," "This is because such things aren’t taught at home or school," "His attitude is really off-putting," and "Seeing a new employee act like that shows what a great company it is."

On the other hand, some netizens responded, "If you can’t even eat that, what are you supposed to eat?" "The Malatang smell disappears after a few minutes; maybe you’re just too sensitive," "Looks like they think they have to lower their heads and obey seniors like in the old days," "Such a classic case of a stubborn old-timer," and "Maybe there’s no space to eat in the office."
