Debut Single 'Supernatural' Dominates Daily Single and Daily Charts
The group 'NewJeans' has dominated major Japanese album and digital music charts for two consecutive days.
According to the latest Oricon chart on the 23rd, NewJeans' Japanese debut single 'Supernatural' topped the 'Daily Single Ranking' the previous day. The single debuted at number one on the chart on its release day, the 21st.
They are also strong in the digital music category. The title track 'Supernatural,' which shares the same name as the single, reached number one on the real-time chart of Line Music, a major local music site, and maintained the top spot on the daily charts for the 22nd and 23rd.
On the previous day's Oricon 'Daily Digital Single Ranking,' the single rose two spots to third place compared to the 21st. The included track 'Right Now' also rose alongside it, reaching sixth place.
The music videos continue to gain steady popularity. The music videos for 'Supernatural' and 'Right Now' held first and second place respectively on the Line Music music video daily chart (dated the 23rd). On YouTube Korea's daily popular music videos (dated the 22nd), they ranked second and third.
Major domestic music sites are also performing well. 'Supernatural' ranked 22nd and 29th on Melon and Genie daily charts, respectively. 'Right Now' also entered both charts, showcasing dual popularity.
ADOR commented, "It is rare for a Japanese single to rank high on domestic music charts, but this is the result of NewJeans' unique sensibility naturally permeating through the music itself, regardless of language."
Having made a strong impression by appearing consecutively on local terrestrial broadcast programs upon their Japanese debut, NewJeans will appear on TBS's 'CDTV Live! Live!' on this day. They will then hold a fan meeting, 'Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome,' at Tokyo Dome on the 26th and 27th. Despite being a weekday event, tickets for the fan meeting sold out early.
