Ulju County Inspects Progress of Summer Natural Disaster Countermeasures

Governor Lee Soongeol Issues Special Orders to Prevent Casualties

Ulsan Ulju-gun held a meeting on the implementation status of the '2024 Summer Season Natural Disaster Countermeasures' on the 24th, presided over by County Governor Lee Soongeol, with directors and heads of 16 collaborative departments in attendance.

The meeting proceeded in the following order: a review of summer weather conditions and forecasts, sharing of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's summer natural disaster countermeasures, key tasks for each collaborative department, and a discussion session.

Participants discussed preemptive preparation and inspection plans for areas at risk of casualties, landslide-prone zones, pumping stations and floodgates, flood damage to semi-basement and apartment buildings, riverside parking lots, river management status, and flood-prone vulnerable roads.

Governor Lee Soongeol emphasized, "To prevent damage from summer natural disasters, preemptive measures must be taken to an almost excessive degree," and requested, "Carry out thorough inspections at all times, and especially make sure to check and respond to places where unexpected casualties may occur."
