Provision of Items Such as Smart Home Cameras and Door Opening Sensors
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it will implement the '2024 Women Single-Person Household Safety Package Support Project,' which provides crime prevention item kits to socially vulnerable groups such as women living alone who are susceptible to crime.
The support targets and scale include women living alone in housing with a deposit of 150 million KRW or less registered in Hwaseong City, legally single-parent households, and male and female crime victims who have reported to the police station. The total support scale is 320 households.
The safety package consists of a smart home camera that automatically captures movement inside the house and sends it to a mobile phone, a smart door sensor that sends real-time alerts to a mobile phone when the door is opened or closed, a mobile phone-attached emergency button that can send location information and audio recordings to designated contacts in case of emergency, a self-defense spray, and a label eraser.
Those wishing to receive the package support can visit the local administrative welfare center or submit an application form via email. For more details, check the announcement board on the Hwaseong City Hall website or contact the Women and Multicultural Affairs Division.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "We hope that the safety package support will help prevent crimes targeting socially vulnerable groups such as women living alone and contribute to a safe daily life."
