Dentis Unveils 'ChecQ', a Dental Implant Stability Meter... First Domestic Development of RFA Method

Dentistry company Dentis, specializing in implant-based digital dentistry and led by CEO Sim Gibong, unveiled a dental implant stability measuring device incorporating new technology on the 24th.

The dental implant stability measuring device is widely used as a method to easily measure the degree of implant osseointegration and fixation strength. This device is divided into percussion-type measuring devices and resonance frequency analysis (RFA) type devices. Percussion-type devices have drawbacks such as stability issues depending on the percussion force and measurement value errors at different measurement positions due to the height of the implant abutment. Among overseas products already on the market, there are RFA-type devices, but when measuring different implants, the need to replace the transducer (Peg) results in cost burdens for disposable consumables.

Dentis Medical Device Research Institute developed the dental implant stability measuring device ‘ChecQ’ using its own technology, and it is the first domestically produced product to apply a self-developed RFA method. It generates a magnetic field and converts the detected resonance frequency into a stability value (ISQ), producing accurate measurements within 2 seconds. This resolves the stability and error issues found in existing percussion-type devices.

Additionally, instead of the disposable Peg used in existing overseas RFA products, ChecQ applies a sterilizable titanium reusable Peg, reducing inconvenience and cost burdens. Furthermore, it enhances ease of use with a rechargeable wireless pen-type design.

ChecQ has completed all preparations for its official launch and began pre-order sales on the 24th, with the official domestic release scheduled for July 1. The company’s strategy is to increase implant success rates through accurate osseointegration measurement with ChecQ and to enhance customer convenience and value by providing differentiated implant solutions for newly opened dental clinics and implant-performing clinics. In particular, it plans to focus on ChecQ as a key competitive item to strengthen competitiveness in the implant market in the second half of the year. The FDA approval process is already underway with a target for completion within the year, and a global market strategy is being established.

A Dentis representative stated, “We will complete overseas certifications such as FDA and European CE for ChecQ and other major new products as soon as possible,” adding, “We will accelerate growth in the global market through strategies such as product localization and expanding global sales networks by establishing new corporations.”
