Gyeonggi Province will start selling marine leisure tourism products online from the 25th to expand the base of marine leisure tourism and revitalize the local economy.
On the 24th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will sell marine leisure, tourism, and experience products that can be enjoyed in the West Sea or nearby areas such as Gimpo, Ansan, Hwaseong, Siheung, and Pyeongtaek at prices up to 30% cheaper.
Earlier in April, Gyeonggi Province held a briefing session for marine leisure sports, tourism companies, and fishing village experience villages in the province and formed the ‘Gyeonggi Sea Marine Leisure Network’ with 23 related companies. They are also exploring support measures such as developing various marine tourism products linking representative programs among companies, promoting through media like the Gyeonggi Sea website and SNS, and pioneering sales channels.
The products mainly include marine leisure equipment experiences such as yachts, boats, surfing, and jet boards around the Gyeonggi Sea area including Siheung and Jebudo, as well as marine tourism programs like the West Sea Cable Car, sunset tours, and fishing village experiences.
The products can be purchased by using the special exhibition page on the Gyeonggi Sea Tourism Marine Leisure Integrated Portal (www.ggbada.co.kr) or by searching for ‘Gyeonggibada’ on 11st or Coupang.
Gong Jeong-sik, Director of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Life Sciences Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The metropolitan area including Gyeonggi Province is the largest domestic marine leisure tourism consumption market with more than 50% of the domestic population residing there, but people who want to enjoy marine leisure tourism still visit the East Sea or the South Sea." He added, "We will do our best to make Gyeonggi Sea the first place that comes to mind when thinking of ‘marine leisure’ by providing various marine leisure experience opportunities."
