Son Yeon-jae Becomes Owner of Itaewon Embassy... "7.2 Billion Won Paid Entirely in Cash"

Currently Embassy Building... Purchased Jointly with Husband's Name

Former national rhythmic gymnastics athlete Son Yeon-jae has become a building owner. She purchased a house in Itaewon, Seoul, worth over 7 billion KRW jointly with her husband.

On the 23rd, Maeil Business Newspaper reported that Son Yeon-jae bought a building in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, together with her husband for 7.2 billion KRW last November. The price per pyeong was 52.66 million KRW.

It is reported that Son Yeon-jae purchased the building entirely in cash without taking out a bank loan. She signed the real estate sales contract in November last year and completed the ownership transfer registration on April 30.

The building is located near Gyeongridan-gil and is currently used as an embassy. In addition to this building, several embassies are clustered in the surrounding buildings, making the residential environment comfortable in terms of privacy protection and security.

During her active career, Son Yeon-jae ranked 5th in the individual all-around rhythmic gymnastics at the 2012 London Olympics and 4th in the individual all-around at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. After retiring in 2017, she has been nurturing promising rhythmic gymnastics talents.

In September 2022, she married a financial professional and gave birth to a son in February last year. Along with this, she donated 100 million KRW to the obstetrics and gynecology department at Severance Hospital. At the time, Son Yeon-jae stated, “Through my childbirth experience, I realized that the obstetrics and gynecology department needs a lot of support, which led me to decide to donate.”

Shortly after her marriage in August 2022, Son Yeon-jae also donated 50 million KRW, which she received as congratulatory money, to Severance Children’s Hospital.
