Gyeonggi Province Deputy Governor Oh Byung-kwon’s Farewell Ceremony on the 21st... Returning to Ministry of the Interior and Safety as Director of Natural Disaster Division Oh Byung-kwon, the First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, will return to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as the Director of the Natural Disaster Division on the 24th, after completing 2 years and 8 months of public service in Gyeonggi Province.

Oh Byung-kwon, the First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, will hold a farewell ceremony on the 21st and return to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.


Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that Oh Byung-kwon will return to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as the Director of the Natural Disaster Division starting from the 24th, taking charge of duties directly related to the safety of the public.


Since arriving in Gyeonggi Province in October 2021, Deputy Governor Oh demonstrated outstanding capabilities in handling key issues such as revitalizing the local economy, enhancing residents' welfare, and ensuring the safety of Gyeonggi Province for two years and eight months.


Deputy Governor Oh graduated from Seoul National University with degrees in Diplomacy and Law, passed the 36th Administrative Examination, and held key positions both in central and local government, including Director of the Economic Office of Gyeonggi Province, Director of Planning and Coordination Office, Deputy Mayor of Bucheon City, Policy Planning Officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Director of Local Finance Policy.


Gyeonggi Province plans to appoint a successor to the First Deputy Governor through consultations with the central government and appointment procedures as soon as possible.
