[Click eStock] "Mirae Semiconductor, Stable Growth Phase... System Semiconductor Share Increasing"

Shinhan Investment Corp. forecasted on the 21st that Mirae Semiconductor, a semiconductor distribution company, will break away from poor performance and enter a stable growth phase.

Lee Kyung-ah, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., stated in a report on the same day, "Since the first quarter of this year, semiconductor demand has increased and selling prices have risen, so the performance growth trend of the distributor Mirae Semiconductor is expected to continue."

Mirae Semiconductor posted sales of 479.9 billion KRW and an operating profit of 14 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year. This represents a 26% increase in sales and a 48% increase in operating profit compared to the same period last year.

According to Shinhan Investment Corp., Samsung Electronics' domestic semiconductor distribution rights are maintained by a three-company system including Mirae Semiconductor, SAMT, and Shinseong Semiconductor. It is highly likely that Samsung Electronics will limit further expansion of distribution rights in the future.

The researcher evaluated, "The proportion of system semiconductor distribution in Mirae Semiconductor's sales rose from 26% in 2019 to 49% this year," adding, "By strengthening the system semiconductor business, they have secured new clients and improved performance stability."

He added, "Mirae Semiconductor has targeted vehicle semiconductor distribution to expand the proportion of system semiconductors and is exploring export plans through various channels such as Asia to increase exports."
