SMG Yonsei Hospital and the Changwon Immigration Office under the Ministry of Justice signed a business agreement on the 19th to support the prompt and safe repatriation of emergency foreign patients undergoing deportation procedures, as well as to provide emergency medical care for foreign residents.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲medical treatment for emergency foreign patients undergoing deportation procedures at the Immigration Office (detention facility), ▲support for prompt and safe repatriation through medical consultations for detained foreigners, ▲enhancing response capabilities for foreigners with mental illnesses or drug addiction, and ▲supporting emergency medical care for other underprivileged foreign residents.
Kim Junghwan, director of the hospital, stated, "We will keep a close watch to ensure that foreign families in our region are not left in medical blind spots, and we will strive for a healthy local community."
Kim Jaenam, head of the office, said, "Through this agreement with SMG Yonsei Hospital, a regional emergency medical center, we are relieved to be able to protect the lives and bodies of foreigners in unfortunate circumstances," adding, "We hope that they can receive proper treatment and return to their home countries promptly and safely."
