19 Years of Group Blood Donation by Employees... Overcoming Blood Supply Crisis
Busan Transportation Corporation is participating in realizing the value of sharing life through blood donation in celebration of World Blood Donor Day.
On the 18th, Busan Transportation Corporation held a "Life Sharing Agreement Ceremony" at its headquarters and hosted a "Love Blood Donation" event for its employees.
The ceremony was attended by Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, Choi Ingyu, Director of the Busan Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross, and other related officials.
The two organizations signed an agreement to cooperate on the following: ▲ continuous blood donation campaigns ▲ promoting a culture of blood donation to the general public ▲ mutual cooperation and support for spreading and practicing the culture of life sharing. They pledged to work together to revitalize blood donation activities through mutual exchange and cooperation.
Choi Ingyu, Director of the Busan Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross, said, "With the number of blood donors rapidly decreasing, we will strive to spread a proper culture of blood donation together with Busan Transportation Corporation, and we look forward to continuing our ongoing partnership in the future."
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "With this agreement, we will establish a closer cooperative system with the Korean Red Cross to contribute to the spread of a culture of life sharing through blood donation. Through the warm hearts of our employees, we will continue to practice true respect for life and sharing, and we will help restore social interest in life-saving blood donation."
The corporation has contributed to stabilizing the blood supply in the local community through its business sites across Busan. Since 2005, the annual group blood donation campaign among employees has achieved a cumulative participation of 4,694 people over 19 years, earning the corporation the Blood Donation Merit Award from Busan City in 2023.
