Development of Data Analysis Model... Pilot Application at Gimhae and Jeju Airports by Year-End
Korea Airports Corporation is partnering with Hanseo University to analyze aviation data and discover new airport services.
On the 19th, Korea Airports Corporation announced that it had signed such a business agreement with Hanseo University the previous day.
The corporation will open aviation data such as aviation statistics and flight information and support a big data platform testbed to allow testing of data analysis technologies, while Hanseo University will analyze public institution data to implement data-based convergence services aimed at enhancing passenger convenience.
First, by integrating past flight performance, daily flight schedules (current), and seasonal flight schedules (future) data, they plan to develop a data analysis model that predicts the probability of flight cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, which will be pilot-applied at Gimhae Airport and Jeju Airport by the end of this year.
Park Jae-hee, head of the Strategy Planning Division at Korea Airports Corporation, said, "Through close public-private cooperation to discover new airport services, we will contribute to the development of the aviation industry and the cultivation of aviation data professionals."
