Jeongeup-si to Start 'Baekilsang and Dolsang Rental Service' from Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 19th that it will start a rental service for Baekilsang (100-day celebration table) and Dolsang (first birthday celebration table) for families with infants and toddlers from next month.

The city plans to respond to the low birthrate era with parenting policies that parents can feel and to steadily address the crisis of local extinction.

As part of this, the city provides a monthly childcare allowance of 100,000 KRW to children aged 0 to 59 months, separate from government policies, and supports a birth congratulatory fund ranging from 2 million KRW to a maximum of 10 million KRW for all newborns.

In addition, to resolve the postpartum care blind spots faced by mothers in the southwestern region including Jeongeup, the city is accelerating the construction of a public postpartum care center, scheduled for completion in 2026.

They are also establishing a pediatric outpatient clinic and a 20-bed children’s ward to create a solid childcare foundation supporting everything from delivery to postpartum care and parenting.

The Baekilsang and Dolsang rental service, which will be implemented from next month, is also promoted to reduce the parenting burden on parents.

The rental items include traditional table setting accessories with a classic feel such as tablecloths, traditional thread spools, bojagi (wrapping cloth), magnolia flower decorations, and doljabi (first birthday grab) items are also provided.

To rent, one must first become a member of the city’s toy rental store.

To sign up, visit the city’s toy rental store with related documents such as a resident registration certificate issued within one month and an ID card.

The membership fee is 20,000 KRW per year (50,000 KRW for facilities), and multicultural families, recipients of basic livelihood security, and low-income groups can use the service free of charge.

Families wishing to rent can pick up items on Thursday and return them the following Tuesday, allowing a maximum rental period of 5 nights and 6 days.

Additionally, members can borrow all 1,001 toys from over 400 types available at the city’s toy rental store.

Individual members can rent 2 toys, and facility members such as daycare centers can rent 5 toys for 9 nights and 10 days with no monthly return limit.

The city conducts an annual user satisfaction survey to purchase popular toys and improve inconveniences, operating efficiently and receiving great responses from members.

Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “Although I want to buy all the new toys, I will do my best to create a child-friendly environment by reflecting the feelings of caregivers struggling with soaring prices and actively responding to changing user demands.”
