Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Department of Computer Software Holds 'Smart Logistics Nanodegree' Information Session

Training of Professionals in Port and Logistics Sectors Starting from Second Semester

The Department of Computer Software at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo), led by Department Head Heo Bongsik, recently co-hosted an information session on the 'Busan Inter-university Talent Sharing (BITS) Smart Logistics Nano-degree Program' with the RIS Smart Port Logistics Project Group.


Busan Inter-university Talent Sharing (BITS) is a collaborative university established by 14 universities in the Busan area to foster regional innovation talent and lead the innovation of the eco-friendly smart marine industry.


The information session, held on the 4th, provided first-year students of the Department of Computer Software with details on the selection schedule and procedures for candidates who will participate in the Smart Logistics Nano-degree Program starting in the second semester.


The session included an introduction to the RIS project and BITS, an overview of the smart port logistics sector and workforce demand outlook, details on the Smart Logistics Nano-degree Program, and information on learning support grants for selected students.


Starting from the second semester of the 2024 academic year, the Department of Computer Software at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology will offer the 'Smart Logistics Nano-degree' program to nurture talent that will lead the global market in the future port and logistics industries, as well as to foster outstanding, practical, and convergent professionals in smart port logistics based on industry demand.


Han Seojin, a first-year student in the Department of Computer Software, said, "Through this information session, I learned in detail about BITS and the Smart Logistics Nano-degree Program, and I plan to participate diligently in the upcoming selection process."


Department Head Heo Bongsik promised, "Last year, we improved two classrooms using RIS project funds, and starting this second semester, we will select first-year students and provide Smart Logistics Nano-degree education so that students can advance into various fields."


The Department of Computer Software at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was established in March 1983 and has produced numerous IT professionals over the past 30 years. The department aims to nurture skilled software development experts in smart IT industries such as web, mobile apps, databases, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and cloud computing.
