Busan Urban Corporation Completes 'Mechanical Equipment Performance Inspection' for Rental Apartments

Reducing Building Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Improving Mechanical Equipment Performance Enhances Residents' Quality of Life

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) has completed a three-month mechanical equipment performance inspection of rental apartments managed by BMC from February 27 to May 31.

The mechanical equipment performance inspection is conducted in accordance with the Mechanical Equipment Act and targets apartment complexes with more than 500 households (or more than 300 households in the case of central heating) managed by BMC. This year, inspections were carried out in a total of 12 districts, including Deokcheon 2 District and Dongsam 2 District rental apartments.

Through this inspection, the operation and aging status of mechanical equipment such as heat sources, heating and cooling systems, ventilation systems, water supply and hot water systems, and piping systems in the rental apartments were comprehensively checked.

For items that require improvement, prompt action will be taken to ensure the safe and efficient operation and management of mechanical equipment within the buildings.

BMC plans to expand the inspections next year to include Happy Housing in front of City Hall (Phase 2) and Gyeongdong Forest Hill Happy Housing, aiming to extend the lifespan of buildings, reduce energy costs, and create a safe and pleasant environment.

Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "Maintaining the performance of mechanical equipment in rental apartments is essential for prolonging the lifespan of the equipment and ensuring a safe environment," and added, "We will do our best to reduce energy consumption and enable residents to live in a comfortable environment through continuous performance inspections."
