Participation in the '2024 International Maritime and Safety Expo'
Exhibition of Products Including Fire Control Systems
Defense company Hunid Technologies (hereinafter Hunid) will showcase integrated maritime solutions including a ‘next-generation maritime network solution’ utilizing Ad-hoc technology, shipborne fire control equipment, identification friend or foe (IFF) devices, electro-optical tracking systems (EOTS), and a hyper-connected maritime network system.
According to Hunid on the 19th, the company will participate in the ‘2024 International Maritime & Safety Expo’ held for three days at Songdo Convensia in Incheon starting today.
Since last year, Hunid has been developing various network solutions applying Ad-hoc technology. The ‘next-generation maritime network solution’ addresses network shadow zones inside ships with many compartments during maritime operations. Ad-hoc communication technology enables the establishment of a network among multiple terminals equipped with wireless interfaces without relying on ground infrastructure. It allows real-time sharing of on-site situations even in deep communication shadow zones such as engine rooms on ships.
At this exhibition, the fire control system will also be displayed. The fire control system has been installed on coast guard patrol vessels and enables precise naval gunfire based on target information acquired through navigation radar and electro-optical tracking systems (EOTS). Hunid’s shipborne fire control system is the most widespread and efficient fire control solution, operated on approximately 130 naval and coast guard vessels through continuous upgrades over the past 30 years.
Kim Wang-kyung, President of Hunid, stated, “The maritime network solution will play a significant role in supporting the Republic of Korea Coast Guard and Navy in fulfilling their maritime sovereignty protection missions by providing seamless network coverage without shadow zones inside ships.”
