With the summer vacation season approaching, a life-saving rescue drill utilizing a firefighting helicopter will be conducted in Ulsan.
The Ulsan Fire Department announced that at 10 a.m. on the 19th, a water rescue drill will be held at Daeam Dam in Samdong-myeon, Ulju-gun, with the participation of a firefighting helicopter and about 10 rescue personnel.
This drill has been organized to enhance the water rescue capabilities of rescue personnel, as the number of people visiting rivers and valleys is expected to increase with the onset of the hot season.
The training will mobilize one firefighting helicopter and about 10 rescue personnel, simulating a situation where a vacationer experiences a water-related accident while swimming.
The drill will proceed with the following scenarios: ▲ discovery and reporting of a drowning victim ▲ helicopter drop of rescue personnel ▲ use of water rescue equipment ▲ hoist-assisted life-saving rescue.
Ulsan Fire Department will focus on life-saving activities using water rescue equipment such as rescue sheets and rescue bags, as well as training for emergency treatment on the helicopter and transport to a nearby hospital.
An official from the Special Response Team stated, "In the event of a water accident, do not attempt to enter the water to rescue someone yourself. Instead, seek help from those nearby or call 119, and throw floating objects to the victim to assist with the rescue."
