As the Korean Medical Association forcibly carried out a collective strike on the 18th, it was revealed that the participation rate of medical institutions in the Daejeon area was the highest in the country.
According to the city, a telephone survey was conducted in the morning and afternoon to check whether medical institutions were closed, and it was found that 257 out of a total of 1,174 institutions, or 22.9%, were closed.
This is more than five times the previously surveyed pre-closure notification rate of 4.3%, exceeding the national average (14.9%) and marking the highest scale nationwide.
On the 10th, based on Article 59, Paragraph 1 of the Medical Service Act, the city issued a medical order to clinic-level medical institutions to provide medical services without closure on the collective action day, the 18th, and required medical institutions intending to close on that day to report their closure by the 13th.
Along with this, the city requested extended medical service cooperation from local medical institutions, and the five district public health centers were instructed to provide extended medical services until 8 p.m. on the day of the collective strike.
