Now in its 16th year, the 2024 Korea Land Grand Prize is a competition that evaluates and awards cases that have beautifully cultivated the land, cities, and landscapes of Korea under the slogan "Elegant Land, Beautiful Landscape."

The work titled "Establishment of People-Centered Street Landscape Guidelines" presents a vision for a sustainable and creative urban landscape unique to Dong-gu's key policy, "People-Centered Elegant Dong-gu."

In particular, attention was drawn to the part where the urban landscape plan was established based on residents' understanding through the "2023 Urban Landscape Design Conference" held last year and the "Dong-gu Landscape Academy" operated last year and this year.

Additionally, high praise was received for building public-private governance with experts, public officials, and related organizations (Korean Landscape Society, Gwangju Korean Institute of Architects, Korea Institute of Architects, Gwangju Outdoor Advertising Association, etc.) and enhancing the professionalism and effectiveness of the urban landscape.

Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "Urban landscape is very important for residents' happiness index and the competitiveness of the city, and residents also strongly empathize with this," adding, "We will create village and alley landscapes that residents can feel and relate to together."
