Soonchunhyang University announced on the 18th that it jointly operated a global alliance capstone design competition with New Uzbekistan University in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The competition, held over five days starting from the 13th, involved about 20 Soonchunhyang University students and about 20 New Uzbekistan University students interested in entrepreneurship and prototype production related to Soonchunhyang University's specialized fields of M&M (Medicine, Mobility). They formed joint teams to conduct collaborative research.
In the Medicine field, they attracted attention by presenting a ‘3D paddle-based target protein detection platform for disease diagnosis’ capable of detecting specific disease markers through the processing of liquid biological samples, and a prototype of a ‘MicrodorneSR patch’ that overcomes the disadvantages of conventional oral drugs and can be self-applied by patients.
In the Mobility field, innovative prototypes stood out, such as an ‘unmanned walkway snow removal vehicle’ to prevent falls among the elderly on icy roads during winter, and a service called ‘Health-Counter’ that allows users to easily manage exercise records and diet alone without an exercise partner.
Additionally, during the competition period, the two universities signed an MOU for mutual cooperation to promote research collaboration and the publicity of research outcomes, exchange of students, professors, and staff, as well as the exchange of academic information and publications, aiming to activate mutual exchange and cooperative projects.
Yoon Hyung-seon, head of the LINC 3.0 Project Group, said, “Through this event, I hope students from both countries develop an international perspective and understanding, enhancing their problem-solving abilities,” and added, “We will continue to strive to become a university that nurtures global leaders across various majors.”
