Conducted Nationwide for Elementary Students Until the 31st of Next Month
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that it will hold a children's poster contest to promote proper food culture until the 31st of next month.
This is the second time the contest is being held, and any elementary school student nationwide can participate. The contest themes can be freely chosen regarding food culture or food safety, such as "Eat an appropriate amount," "Do not reuse food waste," and "Prevent food poisoning."
Applicants wishing to participate should submit their ideas on an 8-cut drawing paper along with the application form by visiting or mailing (registered mail) to the city’s Hygiene Division.
The city will select 22 outstanding works through a review by the Yongin Art Association based on the appropriateness of the theme, creativity, composition and expression, and promotional value. Awards include ▲Grand Prize (2 winners) ▲Excellence Award (4 winners) ▲Encouragement Award (6 winners) ▲Honorable Mention (10 winners), and the results will be announced on the city’s website in August.
The winning works will be selected separately for lower and upper grade sections, and all winners will receive the Yongin Mayor’s Award and cultural gift certificates as prizes. The winning works will be used as promotional materials for improving food culture and food safety in Yongin City and will be exhibited at events such as the Food Industry Expo.
A city official said, "This contest was prepared to help children realize the importance of balanced nutrition and clean hygiene on their own."
