To accommodate the increasing volume of materials and create a comfortable reading environment, the city expanded the storage area of the archive room on the first floor of the museum. The archive room is a space for collecting and preserving historical, administrative, and humanities materials and books related to Yongin. The archive room holds a total of 5,861 books and materials, which are available for reading only. It is open regularly from Tuesday to Sunday.

The museum also relocated the Jokbo Archive, which houses over 3,000 genealogical records donated by Professor Lee Seok-ho, an emeritus professor at Yonsei University known as Gubong (九峯), from Wonsam-myeon, Cheoin-gu to the third floor of the museum.

A museum official stated, "This facility improvement aims to enhance accessibility to Yongin's history and culture," adding, "We will provide more spaces so that citizens can enjoy the region's history and culture."
