Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will operate the ‘Senior Travel Planner Instructor Training’ program starting from the 8th of next month in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization to create jobs for middle-aged and older adults and expand opportunities for social participation. The training consists of a total of 15 sessions and will be held for 5 hours a day on weekdays from the 8th to the 26th of next month at the Korea Tourism Organization Seoul Center.

The training content includes ‘Roles of a Travel Planner,’ ‘Understanding the Characteristics of Seniors,’ ‘How to Use Mobile Phones,’ ‘Travel Product Planning,’ ‘Lecture Teaching Methods,’ and ‘Creating Lecture Materials,’ along with on-site practical training.

The target participants are new middle-aged adults aged 45 to 64 or women with experience in the tourism industry. However, current employees or those participating in overlapping government-funded support projects are excluded from selection. Applications are accepted through the Tourism Professional Portal, Tourismin, until the 30th of this month. After document screening, online interviews will be conducted on the 3rd of next month, and the final successful candidates will be announced on the 4th.

Jongno-gu and the Korea Tourism Organization plan to create job opportunities for graduates who attend more than 80% of the training sessions by enabling them to work as instructors at the Seoul Digital Donghaeng Plaza and welfare facilities within the district.
