Dongjak-gu Daebang Park Park Golf Course to Be Enjoyed by Seniors, Children, and Adults Alike

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will hold a public hearing regarding the creation of the Daebang Park Park Golf Course at 7 p.m. on the 18th at the Daebang-dong Community Center (44 Yeouidaebang-ro 44-gil, 20).

Since opinions for and against were divided among residents at the first residents' briefing held in April, the district will hold a public hearing to convey detailed information about the creation of the park golf course and to listen to various opinions from residents.

The Daebang Park Park Golf Course is planned to be created as a space where park golf can be played by utilizing the grass field inside the track, which is currently underutilized and left idle.

Dongjak-gu is implementing various senior policies in preparation for entering a super-aged society, and as part of this, it aims to promote park golf, an optimal life sports activity, for the healthy leisure life of the elderly.

Currently, there is no park golf course in Dongjak-gu, and the plan is to create a life sports space rather than a formal park golf course so that not only the elderly but also children and adults can enjoy it.

The track within the park will be preserved as is, and on weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends, the grass field will be open for residents who wish to rest or take a walk, as before.

In particular, to ensure residents' safety, continuous consultations with related organizations will be conducted to carry out structural safety inspections, and grass maintenance will be done by mowing without using herbicides (pesticides).

At the public hearing, after explaining the design plan for the Daebang Park Park Golf Course, expert suggestions will be heard through panel discussions and Q&A sessions, and various opinions from residents will also be collected.

Experts in park creation and residents of Daebang-dong are expected to attend the public hearing. On the 4th, the district announced the holding of this residents' public hearing on the district office website to fully listen to residents' opinions.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “Since there are various opinions about the Daebang Park Park Golf Course, we will actively collect residents' opinions through the public hearing and reflect them in policy directions,” adding, “We will continue to improve living environments such as building leisure and cultural infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for residents.”
