"Head of a Family of Five Faces Dire Situation"
Appealing for Help by Posting Donation Account Number
Jung Yura, the daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), who had confessed to severe financial hardship and appealed for economic help from supporters, revealed her serious health condition by posting a photo of blood-stained tissue.
On the 15th, Jung posted a lengthy message along with a photo of blood-stained tissue on her Facebook and YouTube channel. She began her post by saying, "Today is worse than yesterday, so hospitalization seems to be the answer." She continued, "Since last year, I have felt my body deteriorating to the point where I can sense it. When my friends noticed my condition worsening, they would say things like 'You look unwell' or 'Your breathing sounds rough,' but I just laughed it off, saying 'It's because I'm getting older day by day' or 'It's because I gave birth to three children.' But now, I can feel my stamina running out."
Jung confessed, "I am the sole breadwinner of a family of five, and I feel hopeless." She introduced herself, saying, "The reason I couldn't die even when I wanted to was because of my sense of responsibility as the head of the family. I am the head of the family. A single parent raising a sick mother and three sons without any family support." She added, "Two family members are currently ill. Honestly, I sometimes want to go crazy and run away," but she also said, "Still, I believe enduring today is my duty. I hope you can understand and show compassion for my heart, as both my parents and children are sick," leaving her donation account number.
Jung also said, "I always feel ashamed and reluctant to post these, but when it comes to my children and parents, I have to close my eyes tightly. I feel pathetic and hate myself for that." She lamented, "Since yesterday, the doctor has strongly recommended hospitalization, but with both my mother and children being ill and struggling with hospital bills, I have no money to hire a caregiver. In fact, I am the only guardian for both my preschool-aged children and my incarcerated mother." She continued, "There are no other adults or guardians except me, so I told the doctor that hospitalization is impossible. The doctor asked if I would take care of myself then. I have endured almost eight years thinking, 'I'm still young, so I'll be fine,' but now it seems I've reached my limit," expressing bitterness.
Jung also revealed details about her daily life. She said, "You might think 'she does nothing and just plays,' but I go back and forth to police investigations several times a week, read every malicious comment to refute them, and watching the successful careers of people like Assemblyman An Min-seok of the Democratic Party and Representative Cho Kuk of the Innovation Party, while seeing former special prosecutor Park Young-soo being granted bail, has made me skeptical of justice and worsened my health," expressing her frustration.
She added, "In the eight years I've tried to be a good daughter and a good mother while playing the role of the head of the family without any family support, I feel like I've faded and deteriorated a lot. I never went to a psychiatrist for fear of being criticized and endured everything with mental strength," reflecting on her past. She continued, "But I will not lose. I will not give up. Because it would be a waste of the endurance I've had so far. I will fight to the end and only collapse after seeing the defeat of evil and the triumph of justice," and said, "The doctor told me stress is forbidden, so I will take a few days off from the internet and come back."

Finally, Jung said, "Even in this situation, I want to recover quickly because I don't want to spend my money on my own hospital bills but on my children's and mother's hospital bills. If you help me, I will not forget and will fight harder against the leftists in the future," ending her message with, "Still, it was bearable for the past eight years because of you (supporters). I love you and cherish you very much."
The day before, Jung posted a photo of herself coughing up blood, saying, "In the end, I collapsed from illness. I was under extreme stress due to Jang Si-ho, my mother's hospital bills, my child's re-hospitalization, and the issue of suspension of execution of sentence. I don't know if the tuberculosis I had last year relapsed or what, but on the way back from Cheongju, I coughed up blood, got an IV, and lay down." She asked, "Can I receive help only until my child is discharged again? Once the child is discharged, I will refrain from posting personal fundraising messages." She claimed, "My aunt calls the police to kick me out when I visit, I don't even know my father's contact information, and my child's father was stabbed by a robber and became half-disabled, so I can't contact him."
Jung has recently posted several messages on Facebook requesting donations. On May 25, she wrote on Facebook, "My mother is scheduled for surgery. After eight years of imprisonment, she cannot use her waist and shoulders at all," adding, "There is no one to rely on except my mother. I am willing to beg for the health of my only family member."
