Changwon Special City Opens Changwon Mom Community Center ... "Supporting Work-Family Balance"

On the 14th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the opening ceremony of the Changwon Mom Community Center and began offering various programs to support work-life balance for working parents. The Changwon Mom Community Center is located on the 4th floor of the Changwon Women's Center (11, Daejeong-ro 20beon-gil, Seongsan-gu).

The Changwon Mom Community Center was established as a pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration to address the difficulties faced by working parents in balancing work and family, and to support work-life balance.


At the opening ceremony, more than 100 people attended, including Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, Park Seonae, Chairperson of the Economic, Welfare and Women’s Committee, Ku Jeomdeuk, Chairperson of the Council Operation Committee, city council members, and citizens.


In particular, the "Moms Museum," which displays crafts made by working moms using various materials such as beads, knots, leather, and handmade doll clothes, attracted the attention of visitors at the opening ceremony.


Mayor Hong stated, "We will continue to support the Changwon Mom Community Center so that it can establish itself as a healing and communication space providing systematic services to help dual-income families with childbirth and childcare overcome the challenges of work-life balance."


The Changwon Mom Community Center, as a pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration, will serve as a platform for parents exhausted from childcare and work life by offering support for resolving workplace issues for working moms and dads, capacity-building education, healing, and family-friendly programs.


Additionally, the city plans to actively respond to population issues by utilizing the Changwon Mom Community Center to promote various projects linking families, businesses, and the local community, thereby creating a family-friendly social atmosphere.
