Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Council Opens the 288th Regular Session

The Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City will open the 288th 1st regular session, the final legislative schedule of the first half of the 9th council.

The regular session will be held for a total of 15 days from the 14th to the 28th, during which it will review a total of 28 agenda items, including district administration questions, the approval of the 2023 fiscal year settlement and supplementary expenditure, the 2nd supplementary budget for 2024, as well as ordinances and general proposals.

Among the submitted agenda items, the ordinances proposed by council members include eight items such as the Gwangsan District Ordinance on the Creation and Support of Companion Plant Culture (Councilor Park Mi-ok), the Gwangsan District Ordinance on the Installation and Operation of Priority Parking Spaces for National Merit Recipients (Councilor Yang Man-ju), and the Gwangsan District Ordinance on the Operation of the Policy Sunset System (Councilor Kim Myung-su).

The main schedule includes ▲on the 14th, listening to the executive branch’s explanatory proposals on the approval of the 2023 fiscal year settlement and the 2nd supplementary budget for 2024 during the 1st plenary session, and ▲from the 17th to the 20th, each standing committee will begin preliminary reviews of the settlement approval and the 2nd supplementary budget along with the examination of ordinances and general proposals.

Additionally, ▲on the 21st, district administration questions regarding local issues and overall district projects will be conducted against the executive branch during the 2nd plenary session, and ▲from the 24th to the 27th, the Special Budget and Settlement Committee will conduct a comprehensive review of the 2023 fiscal year settlement approval and the 2nd supplementary budget for 2024. The 2nd supplementary budget for 2024 in Gwangsan District has been organized at a scale of 1.058 trillion KRW, an increase of 53.6 billion KRW (5.58%) compared to the previously approved amount. Finally, ▲on the 28th, the 3rd plenary session will be held to make the final decisions on all submitted agenda items and conclude this session.
