Recruiting 48 People Until the 28th
Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on the 12th that it will be accepting applications for the '2024 Lifelong Education Voucher for Persons with Disabilities' until the 28th, aiming to expand lifelong education opportunities for people with disabilities.
This project was launched after Gijang-gun was selected for the '2024 Lifelong Education Voucher Support Project for Persons with Disabilities' hosted by the Ministry of Education in March. The program provides 350,000 KRW per person per year in lifelong education vouchers (covering course fees and textbook costs) to 48 registered residents with disabilities aged 19 or older in Gijang-gun.
Selected recipients can receive a 'Lifelong Education Hope Card' from NH Nonghyup and use it to take online or offline courses at educational institutions nationwide registered with the 'Lifelong Education Voucher' program.
Persons with disabilities who wish to apply for support can do so through the 'Bojogeum 24' website by the 28th. However, those who already benefit from the 2024 general lifelong education voucher or are recipients of national scholarships under the 'Korea Student Aid Foundation Act' cannot receive duplicate support. If the number of applicants exceeds the available slots, selection will be based on income and other priority criteria.
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, "I hope this project will further expand lifelong education opportunities for people with disabilities in our community," and added, "We will actively support the creation of 'Gijang, a Lifelong Learning City' where everyone can learn conveniently."
