Humasis announced on the 12th that it conducted an on-site exploration in the lithium potential area of Zimbabwe to secure lithium, one of the key raw mineral materials for secondary battery batteries.
The company established a local subsidiary in Zimbabwe called Humasis Mine Solution and carried out survey work to secure promising target mining areas through outcrop surveys and sample analyses as part of the basic investigation locally. To this end, Humasis CEO Kim Seong-gon, professional interpreters, mining development engineers, and local geological experts stayed in Zimbabwe, the company added.
The main survey areas were Mashonaland East to the east, Mashonaland West to the north, and Matabeleland South to the south, all centered around the capital of Zimbabwe. The company explained that they conducted surface surveys, outcrop surveys, and sample analyses to confirm lithium mineralization zones.
According to the company, Humasis Mine Solution secured mining rights in Matabeleland South Province, located in the southern region of Zimbabwe. This area is referred to as the Greenstone Belt within Zimbabwe and is a belt where gold and lithium minerals are abundantly found. Additionally, within the Greenstone Belt, there are world-class lithium mines such as Sabvisa Lithium Mine (2,637 hectares, acquired by China Changxin Group), Bikita Lithium Mine (1,530 hectares, acquired by China Sinomine), Arcadia Lithium Mine (1,400 hectares, acquired by China Zhejiang Huayou Group), Zulu Lithium Mine, and Sandawana Mine.
A Humasis official stated, “Humasis Mine Solution confirmed favorable sample results from surface and outcrop surveys at the secured mining site (3,000 hectares) in Matabeleland South Province. We plan to conduct essential basic investigations to understand the mineral body, such as self-potential surveys and radiation surveys, which are preliminary steps before detailed exploration like trenching and drilling surveys.”
