Prosecutors Request Arrest Warrants After 2 Years for Perpetrator Who Sexually Assaulted Senior's Daughter

The prosecution has requested an arrest warrant two years after launching an investigation into a case where a woman in her 20s, who regarded a father's junior colleague like her biological uncle, was sexually assaulted and subsequently took an extreme measure.

According to the legal community on the 12th, the Nonsan branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office has reportedly requested an arrest warrant from the Nonsan District Court for Mr. A, who is accused of sexually assaulting the daughter of his senior.

Mr. A is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting Ms. B (22), the daughter of his senior, at his office and a motel from November 22 to 29, 2021.

This fact came to light after Ms. B, who showed symptoms of anxiety and suffered from nightmares following the assault by Mr. A, confided the truth to her parents.

Ms. B endured continuous rape and molestation by Mr. A, suffered mental shock that caused her cognitive ability to decline to the level of a 4-year-old, and took an extreme measure in August of last year.

During the investigation, Mr. A reportedly denied the sexual assault charges, stating, "I admit to having sexual relations with Ms. B, but it was consensual."

When Mr. A denied all sexual assault allegations, the investigative agency involved profiling by the Chungnam Provincial Police Agency and judged that Mr. A's sexual assault charges were valid, citing inconsistencies in Mr. A's statements and the specificity of Ms. B's parents' testimonies.

The prosecution is reportedly reviewing changing the charge against Mr. A from rape resulting in death to rape resulting in injury after securing his custody and investigating whether Ms. B's cause of death is related to Mr. A's sexual assault.

The Daejeon District Court Nonsan Branch is scheduled to conduct a pre-arrest warrant hearing (warrant substantive examination) for Mr. A on the 14th.
