The Korea Volunteer Award is given by the Korea UN Volunteers to institutions or individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the nation and local communities through sharing and volunteering.

Since its establishment in 2005 as a public enterprise, GKL has consistently provided donations and volunteer activities targeting economically and socially disadvantaged groups and multicultural families both domestically and internationally. Additionally, to carry out systematic social contribution activities, GKL established the GKL Social Contribution Foundation to support domestic tourism, culture, and contribution projects.

In particular, GKL was recognized for ▲ efforts to support marginalized groups and solve social issues such as local challenges and environmental problems ▲ efforts to create jobs for socially vulnerable groups including people with developmental disabilities and seniors through job development ▲ efforts to support the revitalization of local tourism and economy affected by COVID-19.

President Kim expressed, "GKL will continue to do its best to realize various social values by standing with marginalized neighbors."
