As Apple unveiled its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, the stock prices of domestic companies supplying components to Apple devices have surged significantly.
On the morning of the 12th, LG Innotek and BAH were trading more than 10% higher compared to the previous day's closing price in the stock market. Jahwa Electronics and Deokwoo Electronics also showed relatively strong gains.
The sharp rise in Apple's stock price led to an increase in related domestic stocks. Apple announced its AI system, Apple Intelligence, at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 the day before. Consequently, Apple closed trading on the New York Stock Exchange on the 11th (local time) up 7.26%.
LG Innotek supplies camera modules for the iPhone. Analysts expect that the demand for camera functions necessary for video processing will increase with the release of a new iPhone equipped with AI.
BAH supplies flexible printed circuit boards (FPCB) used in smartphone displays. It is anticipated that demand will rise with the launch of new models.
Jahwa Electronics has been supplying camera modules, and Deokwoo Electronics has long supplied stiffeners that enhance camera stability to Apple.
