At 9:21 a.m. on the 11th, a fire broke out at an automotive parts plating factory in Sanmak-dong, Yangsan, Gyeongnam.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Department, the fire damaged the exterior wall of the factory, a dehydrator, some process equipment, fixtures, and tools, resulting in property damage estimated at approximately 8.99 million won by the fire department.
The factory representative, a man in his 50s who witnessed the fire, sustained third-degree burns on both arms while attempting to extinguish the flames in the early stages. He was transported to the hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The fire was completely extinguished by the fire authorities who responded to the scene at around 9:44 a.m.
The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, based on evidence that the flames originated from the plating process equipment and surrounding objects.
