Employee Professional Development Training Conducted
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) recently conducted a training program to enhance expertise in facility safety for its in-house inspection team and facility management personnel from operating companies, aiming to strengthen the effectiveness of safety inspections for Busan Port facilities.
The training invited external experts with extensive experience in port facility inspections, allowing facility management staff to gain practical, field-based knowledge. The sessions focused on key points during port facility inspections, overall maintenance requirements, and methods for preparing inspection reports for Type 1 and Type 2 facilities. There was also a discussion session to address challenges related to facility safety management.
Additionally, since the 3rd of this month, BPA has been conducting its regular semi-annual safety inspections over a three-week period, targeting 229 facilities within Busan Port.
During these regular safety inspections, visual surveys are carried out to assess the condition of the facilities and to verify whether they meet the operational requirements at the time of inspection.
In accordance with the Special Act on Facility Safety and Maintenance and the Port Act, BPA conducts annual safety inspections and maintenance for 426 facilities under its jurisdiction to ensure the safety and maintenance of Busan Port.
Lee Sangkwon, Head of BPA Construction Headquarters, stated, "We will continue to provide training and other initiatives to enhance expertise so that the safety inspections conducted independently by BPA staff can be thorough and effective."
