Through this agreement, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries plans to expand its ship business, which has been focused on construction, into engineering and service businesses by collaborating with companies possessing specialized capabilities in key areas of the ship MRO business, such as maintenance specialists, mid-sized shipyards, and companies specializing in maintenance infrastructure development, thereby further strengthening its competitiveness in securing orders.

In particular, the scope of business will be expanded from parts supply and maintenance support to include modernization of maintenance facilities and construction of floating docks as part of maintenance infrastructure development projects.

Additionally, by combining HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' excellent maintenance technology with B&F Technology's artificial intelligence (AI) predictive maintenance solutions, effective ship management and rapid initial response will be supported. Applying Sesco's healthcare services to ships is also expected to greatly contribute to crew health improvement and enhanced combat readiness.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries aims to secure a foothold in the U.S. Navy ship MRO market, which operates a large fleet, by strengthening inspection and certification cooperation systems with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

CEO Joo Won-ho stated, "We will build cooperative relationships to grow alongside excellent companies with the best competitiveness in the domestic and international ship MRO business sector, and grow into a global leading company not only in new shipbuilding but also in the MRO business."
