Bioinformatics specialist company Insilicogen Inc. announced on the 11th that it will jointly install and operate a domestic data center with global biotechnology company QIAGEN. QIAGEN is a German bio company that supplies DNA and RNA extraction kits and gene analysis software worldwide.
According to Insilicogen, QIAGEN's domestic data center installation will be the third in the world, following Denmark and the United States. The 'QCII' data center installed in Korea is a web-based software that curates large-scale bioinformatics databases to facilitate access to the field of precision medicine.
QCII is the first NGS interpretation platform to obtain approval under the European In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Regulation (CE-IVDR). It supports personalized treatment by clinically interpreting gene variants analyzed from NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data.
An Insilicogen official explained, "QIAGEN has established the QCII data center domestically to enable clinical interpretation of NGS variant data in Korea while complying with domestic medical and data-related laws."
